You may have noticed the inverted umbrellas on our weather chart over the last few days. These winds are known as the Levante and have scoured the sand from many of the beaches along much of the Costa del Sol, including I am afraid Benalmadena.
The Ayuntamiento have already promised to have it replaced before the Easter holidays, lets hope that they are true to their word.

Update June 7th 2006
The sand was duly replaced with 5000 sq m of sand being provided by the coastal authority for beaches of Benalmadena, however last weeks strange weather managed to wash away and estinated 30 - 40% of it. Urgent measures are once more in place to make repairs before the season proper starts.
